Free ACE INSET session for performing arts teachers

Tuesday 10 May // mac // Cannon Hill Park, Moseley, Birmingham, B12 9QH // 5.00pm – 6.30pm

ACE dance and music would like to invite teachers to a free INSET session to introduce the company, their education work with young people and their ground breaking and challenging new full length production ICE. Touring from autumn 2011, ICE will be performed at mac in November. This session will be a chance for you to find out about exciting opportunities for your students to work with the company during this forthcoming tour.

A practical workshop, led by Artistic Director Gail Parmel, will look at their previous production Skin, which is on the current OCR Performance Studies syllabus.

There will be a presentation of ACE’s new work ICE, following the company’s intensive research and development period working in collaboration with internationally renowned choreographer Akiko Kitamura from Japan. There will also be an opportunity to find out about the company’s extensive outreach work with children and young people and the work of their youth company: ACE Youth.
Bev Sokolowski, from Joseph Chamberlain College and Principal Examiner for OCR, will discuss the relevance of ACE’s work to teaching the performing arts and ideas for accessing funding for working with professional artists.

Book your place early! Please email Charlotte info@acedanceandmusic.com by Tuesday 3rd May and we will then confirm further details and send a schedule for the session.
