This half term ACE space has been a hive of activity as we’ve hosted a week which is packed full of singing, dancing and acting activities for 5-12 year olds. The week has been designed to keep the kids entertained during the half term but also to prepare them for ACE’s Christmas production which will be based on the Dickensian production, Oliver.
On Wednesday and Thursday Adrian from I Am Bold, an arts and music organisation for developing artists, came along to teach the kids some vocal techniques. This included crescendo, call and response and learning to sing and move at the same time. Throughout the week the children also got to take part in activities that developed motor skills, characterisation and helped them to learn to move as a group.
‘I like the acting and games. We get to do loads of fun stuff like shouting and singing. Working with Adrian was fun, he changes the style and makes us all sing and works us all hard so we can do it properly and I like that. I’m really happy to show all the adults and parents our Oliver drama at Christmas.’ Tia age 7.
Our holiday schools are a fantastic opportunity for kids to socialise, learn new skills and flourish within a creative environment. We will be hosting more schemes in the near future such as our upcoming summer school so follow us on Facebook and Twitter @ACE_dance_music to keep up to date and book your child’s place.
