ACE dance and music’s ‘Fused’ shortlisted for U.Dance 2019

Last week our in-house Saturday class ‘FUSED’ were shortlisted as one of the nine groups in the running to perform at the prestigious U.Dance 2019 showcase on the main stage of  London’s Southbank in July 2019.

U.Dance 2019 is One Dance UK’s flagship youth event, providing the focal point for the U.Dance national performance programme. The festival starts in different regions around the UK and ‘Fused’, aged 11-14, were selected to perform on the West Midlands youth platform as part of the national festival. After the regional performances, a selection of outstanding youth companies and organisations will represent their region at the final show on Sunday 21st July at the SouthBank Centre, Europe’s biggest centre for the arts.

Whilst at U.Dance West Midlands, ‘Fused’ took part in a variety of dance and music masterclasses which included an English Folk Dance class and a musicality workshop with ACE Alumni Azizi Cole. The day ended on a high note as they performed their piece ‘Artificial Intelligence’, which went really well, and we are extremely proud of how professional our young people were. Their overall experience was great as they tried new dance styles, heard different genres of music and gained a wider knowledge of distinctive art forms.
